German consumers to pay more for meat

German consumers will have to pay more for meat due to higher animal feed product and energy prices, Gerd Sonnleitner, president of the German Farmers' Association, or DBV.

"Beef and pork prices may again reach last year's levels by year end," he said, adding this represents an increase of 16 percent and 18 percent respectively from current prices.
