Russia's Jan-Aug poultry, pork output goes higher on-year

Russia produced 1.8 million tonnes of poultry and 468,000 tonnes of pork in the first eight months of the year, up 16.3% and 27.5%, respectively, against 2009, the federal statistics service said Wednesday (Sep 15).

According to the service, Russian poultry output in August increased 7.2% on-year and were down 0.5% compared with July.

Pork output in August increased by 19.6% compared with August 2009 and by 0.3% compared with July this year. No output figure for August was available for both pork and poultry.
