Russia lifts quarantine over bird flu in more regions


 

Russia's government said the quarantine over bird flu has been lifted in three settlements of the Omsk region, while restrictions have been lifted in 13 other settlements with suspected cases of the disease.

 

Quarantine has also been lifted in six settlements of the Kurgan region and in seven settlements in the Novosibirsk region.

 

However, the government said the bird flu situation in the Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions has not improved so far.

 

Overall, the disease has been confirmed in 48 settlements within Russia, and was suspected in another 81 settlements. The quarantine over 22 settlements has already been lifted.
