AMD Announces Lysine Expansion to 400 Million Pounds Per Year

On September 15, Archer Daniels Midland Company announced that it is increasing the capacity of its lysine production facility in Decatur, Illinois, so as to keep pace with the growing worldwide demand for amino acids.

The Company has already begun the expansion, which will bring the total production capacity for lysine to 400 million pounds per year. The expansion should be completed by early 2004, and will add grind flexibility to the Corn Processing division.
