UAE allows resumption of fresh beef imports from Argentina
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has allowed resumption of fresh beef imports from Argentina, according to the Argentine government.
The UAE had banned Argentine beef imports in 2001, following a widespread outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the country.
According to the Argentine government, the country's beef exports totalled 478,124 tonnes worth US$1.053 billion in 2004.
Argentina's government expected beef exports to reach US$1.1 billion in 2005.
