Italy's January-June wheat imports down
In the first six months of 2012, Italy's soft wheat imports fell to 2.15 million tonnes from 2.3 million tonnes in the same period in 2011.
Italian cereals body Anacer said on Thursday (Sep 13) that corn imports fell to 1.1 million tonnes in the January-June period from 1.6 million tonnes in the first six months of 2011.
Imports of durum wheat used for making pasta fell to 717,222 tonnes in the period from one million tonnes a year earlier.
