Brazil can export poultry to Europe again
A recent decision by the WTO has resulted in Brazil being able to resume poultry exports to the EU, announced the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply.
The WTO ruled on Sep 12 in favour of Brazil in a dispute with the EU over the latter's decision to re-classify Brazilian chicken, resulting import duties to more than double and effectively excluding the product from the European market.
Brazil's Commercial Affairs director of the Department of International Agribusiness Relations, Antônio Carlos Costa Costa, said that the WTO decision conferred negotiating credibility on Brazil and firmed the country's image as one of the most active members of the WTO.
