World Grain Conference focuses on key Asia Pacific grain issues

Billed as the premier conference for grain industries in the Asia-Pacific, the World Grain Conference would take place alongside Victam Asia 2006 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok, Thailand, on March 9, 2006.

The conference would discuss the outlook for grains in the Asia Pacific, and examine grain and feed market supply and demand trends in this vital region.

Invited speakers would include top executives from grain organisations, including the International Grains Council, Cargill, Rabobank, World Aquaculture Society, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, US Wheat, AWB International and the American Soybean Association.

This is an essential conference for those who want to know more about the current status and future of Southeast Asian grain, flour and feed markets.

Topics discussed would include:

•  Global and regional supply and demand outlook for grains and oilseeds in 2006-07 and beyond 
   
•  Impact of China on grain industries in the Asia Pacific
   
•  Impact of the WTO Doha round negotiations on the grain sector in the region
   
•  Animal feed markets in the Asia-Pacific: supply, demand and quality criteria
   
•  Aquaculture feed markets in the Asia Pacific and impact on grain usage
   
•  Status of biotechnology acceptance and regulation in Thailand, and the wider region of Southeast Asia
   
•  Overview of Asian wheat markets, including end product trends
   
•  Status of milling industries in the region

The conference is organised by World Grain magazine in association with Victam Asia 2006, and supported by the Thai Department of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives, Thai Feed Mill Association and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

Delegates to this conference would also be able to take advantage of the co-location with Victam Asia 2006, and visit the premier grain and feed industry trade show in the region. The show runs from March 8-10, 2006, in the QSNCC.
