Hong Kong Imports More Live Chicken For Mid-Autumn Festival
Mainland live chicken imports into Hong Kong will rise from 35,000 to 50,000 a day from September 26 to 28 to meet the Mid-Autumn Festival demand.
The Health, Welfare & Food Bureau will increase inspection and quarantine measures to ensure imported birds are healthy for consumption.
The bureau said earlier that daily imports would rise from 30,000 to 35,000 between August 16 and September 30.
After the Mid-Autumn Festival, daily import quantity will be scaled back to 30,000 on October 1.
