China's 2013 corn output may reach 215 million tonnes
 

 

China National Grain and Oils Information Centre's (CNGOIC) forecast revealed that China's corn output this year is likely to rise 4.6% to a record 215 million tonnes.

 

CNGOIC said that rice production may slip 1% from last year to 202 million tonnes due to drought.

 

The government expects the overall grain harvest this year to rise to a record from last year's 589.57 million tonnes which includes wheat, corn  and rice.

 

Soy output may fall 4.2% to 12.5 million tonnes, the report said. China imports around 80% of its soy.
