China folic acid prices weak despite rising output costs

Prices remained soft.

Demand for folic acid continued to stay weak as buyers purchase prudently. Hence, producers were unable to increase prices even though raw ingredients costs were on the rise.

In the general market, transacted prices by major producers were in the range of RMB162-165/kg.

Folic acid prices are unlikely to strengthen in the near term with demand slack and supplies abundant.
