Production rising strongly in Ukraine's Bershad poultry
In August, the Bershad poultry processing plant raised the value of its production 38 percent to UAH 6.2 million (US$ 1.2 million).
August output was up 4.7 percent compared with July with poultry production amounting to 797 tonnes, the company told Ukranian News.
During the eight-month period from January to August this year, the company's output value grew 27 percent on-year to UAH 44.9 million (US$9 million).
As Ukrainian News reported, in July, the plant increased production value by 26.9 percent on-year to UAH 5.9 million (US$1.2 million).
Bershad poultry plant ended 2006 with a net profit of UAH 2.308 million (US$460,000 ), having increased production value by 70 percent.
The enterprise is an open joint-stock company founded in 1976 specializing in growing and processing broiler meat.
The Andrushko family owns three-quarters of the shares in the company.
