Russia free of bird flu cases for a month
No bird flu cases have been reported in Russia for more than four weeks, the Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight Service Rosselkhoznadzor said Monday (Sep 11).
A quarantine was lifted in the last populated area earlier infected with bird flu a month ago on Aug 7. In all, 93 localities in eleven districts of the Southern Federal District and five in the Siberian Federal District have been affected with the disease this year.
The situation remains closely monitored by the state veterinary service, Rosselkhoznadzor said.
