Ukraine's 2012-13 grain export up 67.6%
As of September 7, Ukraine's general grain exports totalled 3.76 million tonnes, up 67.6% compared to the same period of the previous season.
In particular, the general wheat exports grew by 65.7% - to the level of 1.67 million tonnes (including 1.19 million tonnes of milling wheat, 0.48 million tonnes of feed wheat). At the same time, the exports of barley decreased by 27.2% - to 0.87 million tonnes.
As of September 7, the exports of corn reached the volume of 1.18 million tonnes, against 56,300 tonnes on-year.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on September 10, 2012, in the first week of September Ukraine already exported 0.77 million tonnes of grains, including 365,700 tonnes of wheat, 316,200 tonnes of barley and 83,700 tonnes of corn.
According to the press-service, from the beginning of 2012-13 marketing year the exports of oilseeds from Ukraine increased by 46.4% - to 403,900 tonnes. In particular, the exports of rapeseed increased by 19.4% - to 291,000 tonnes, soy - up 3.5 times, to 112,900 tonnes.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and grain trading companies, operating on the domestic market, agreed that in the current marketing year the country will supply no more than 19.4 million tonnes of wheat, barley and corn on foreign markets.
