VION offloads Thai chicken operations

VION Food Group has sold its Thailand chicken business Grampian Foods Siam to Navis Capital.

The decision was made after a review of Vion's international poultry activities. CEO Ton Christiaanse said the review identified that Grampian Foods Siam did not form part of the company's strategic model.

Christiaanse said the sales will allow the company's management teams to concentrate on the farming and processing activities in the UK, and help boost investment in the UK business with a focus on poultry activities.
