Poor confidence decimates China methionine sales
Prices were soft during the week ended September 2.
The supplier of one major imported dl-methionine quoted in the range of RMB31.50-32/kg. The price quote of locally produced methionine was around RMB29/kg.
Most buyers were not enthusiastic to stock inventories while the outlook of the poultry market remained uncertain. As demand was weak, prices of methionine slid even though the supplier of one major imported brand stood firm.
Although the demand for methionine is expected to be stable the poor confidence of poultry farmers and feed millers will hamper the sales of the product.
