Hangzhou Wahaha plans to set up dairy processing facility in Australia
 

 

Zong Qinghou, the CEO of Chinese beverage company, Hangzhou Wahaha, is planning to establish a milk powder processing facility in Busselton, Australia.

 

Zong Qinghou met agriculture minister Terry Redman and officials of the City of Busselton over the plant.

 

A department spokeswoman said that a Chinese agro-enterprise was interested in dairy processing and potentially other products and consulted local contacts in the South West.

 

Busselton mayor, Ian Stubbs, noted that the talks with Zong were confidential.

 

Hangzhou Wahaha is a leading drink company in China, and it produces juice, soft drinks and food. The company owns 60 production bases in 29 provinces in China, and employs 30,000 people.
