According to reports, a major US liquid methionine producer was badly hit by Hurricane Katrina. The producer's supplier of raw materials for liquid methionine production, based in New Orleans, Louisiana State, was recently flooded during the hurricane's rampage. This severely impacted the company's liquid methionine production. It was still uncertain when the producer would be able to resume liquid methionine production, pending its damage assessment of the disaster area, reports said.
