Degussa's plant in US's Alabama resumes dl-methionine production

Degussa announced that its fine chemicals plant in Mobile, Alabama State, had resumed dl-methionine production, although at a reduced rate, following the recent rampage of Hurricane Katrina.

The company said it planned to get production back to normal levels again and was doing its best to deal with existing contracts. However, it also saw the possibility of some delays in light of disruptions to power, utilities and transportation systems by the hurricane.
