Ukraine harvests almost 30 million tonnes of grain

 

 

As of September 6, Ukraine harvested 29.98 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from an area of 12.07 million hectares, or 82% of the target.

 

The average yield of grain and leguminous crops is 24.8 quintals per hectare, the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry has reported.

 

Farmers are continuing to thresh buckwheat. They threshed 114,800 tonnes from an area of 135,300 hectares (64% of the forecast), with an average yield of 8.5 quintals per hectare. Ukraine also harvested 115,100 tonnes of millet from an area of 74,500 hectares, or 85% of the forecast. The average yield reached 15.4 quintals per hectare.

 

Farmers also threshed 824,400 tonnes of corn (8%), with an average yield of 36.4 quintals per hectare, and 612,300 tonnes of sunflower seeds from an area of 403,000 hectares (9% of the forecast), with an average yield of 15.2 quintals per hectare. Ukraine threshed 115,700 tonnes of soy from an area of 84,600 hectares, with an average yield being 13.7 quintals per hectare.
