Corn prices in China remained generally stable, and moved within a narrow range in some regions early this week.

Prices generally remained firm in the north-eastern production regions.

On September 8, 500,000 tonnes of old crop corn put up for auction in Jilin province only had minimal impact on local market prices.

Corn supplies in some areas within the southern consumption regions were abundant, following a significant release of new crop corn into local markets there. Thus, corn prices in those areas have consequently fallen in recent days.

Meanwhile, corn prices at Chinese ports continued to edge higher, due to a recent rise in China's ocean freight rate for domestic deliveries and fall in shipment arrival volumes there.
