Taiwan MFIG Bought 56,000 MT US Corn From Cargill Friday
A member of Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group bought 56,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 corn from trading house Cargill in private negotiations concluded Friday, said a Taipei-based trader who received the information.
MFIG bought one cargo at $153.90 a ton for 7,000 tons and 156.50 U.S. cents per bushel over Chicago corn futures for the remaining 49,000 tons, the trader said.
Both prices are after cost and freight. The shipment date of the cargo is set either between Oct. 18-Nov. 1 from the U.S. Gulf or between Nov. 2-16 from the Pacific Northwest, according to the trader.
