South Korea to expand beef tracking system
South Korea will expand its beef tracking system this year to give consumers more and better information, the government announced on Sept 6.
The system will use bar codes and result in the computerised tracking of beef-from birth of cow to butchering and packaging.
This new system is now being implemented in nine local beef brands, with numbers expected to increase to 14 by year-end, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said.
