Ingredion appoints new senior VP for South American business

Ingredion Incorporated, a provider of ingredient solutions to diversified industries, has announced the appointment of Ricardo de Abreu Souza as senior vice president and president of South America Ingredient Solutions.

He replaces Julio dos Reis who will retire on December 31, 2013.

Souza joined Ingredion's Brazilian affiliate in 1977 as a process engineer and progressed through a number of roles, including plant manager at a Balsa Nova facility. From 1990-1994, he worked at the company's South American regional level in Brazil and New Jersey, US. 

Later, Souza was made the project business manager of Ingredion's Mexican business in 1994.  He also held various senior positions in the unit.  In 2010, he was named president and general manager for the business.
