Russia ships 4.553 million tonnes grain since July 1

Since July 1, Russia has exported 4.553 million tonnes of grain, including 2.485 million tonnes in August 1-29.

According to the Agriculture Ministry the average export contract price for Russian wheat in August was US$282 per tonne.

The export price for SRW (soft red winter) wheat on the world market (FOB Gulf of Mexico) was US$347 in August, 35% more than at the start of this year. Prices rose 2.6% over the past week.

The Agriculture Ministry forecasts that exports of grain from Russia could run to 10-14 million tonnes this agricultural year (July 2012-June 2013).
