Brazil's August soy exports down on-month at US$763.4 million

 

 

Brazil's soy exports reached US$763.4 million in August, from US$860 million in July and US$670 million in August 2006, according to figures out Monday from the Brazilian Development Ministry Foreign Trade Department (Secex).

 

About 2.674 million tonnes were shipped, from 3.093 million tonnes in July and 2.956 million tonnes in August 2006.

 

The average price of soy exported in August was US$285.5 per tonne, against US$278/tonne in July and US$226.7/tonne in August 2006.

 

On the other hand, Brazil's soymeal exports totalled US$321.7 million in August, from US$271.2 million in July and US$299 million in August 2006, Secex said.

 

In volume terms there were 1.379 million tonnes shipped, from 1.226 million tonnes in July and 1.561 million tonnes in August 2006.

 

The average price of soymeal exported was US$233.20 per tonne, against US$221.20 per tonne in July and US$191.40 per tonne in August 2006.

 

Secex also reported that Brazil's August soyoil exports were worth US$138.60 million from US$136.80 million in July and US$87 million in August 2006.

 

There were 183,600 tonnes shipped, from 193,000 tonnes in July and 176,000 tonnes in August 2006.

 

The average price of soyoil shipped was US$755 per tonne, against US$709 per tonne in July and US$494 per tonne in August 2006.
