China's Yili reports 17.6 percent rise in H1 revenue
China's Yili Group reported better financial performance in the first half of 2007. Revenue from its core business rose 17.6 percent on-year to RMB9.3 billion while profit before taxation increased 18.4 percent on-year to RMB857 million. Net profit for the period was RMB244 million.
By product segment, revenue from milk powder sales was 32.7 percent higher on-year to RMB1.3 billion. Income from beverage sales was up 24.8 percent to RMB1.7 billion. Meanwhile, sales income from its Jindian series of liquid milk products recorded a 17-fold increase while sales of yoghourt were also on a steady uptrend.
