Jordan tenders to buy 100,000 tonnes barley

Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry said Sunday (Sep 3) it was tendering to buy 100,000 tonnes of feed barley, on a cost and freight basis.

The first 50,000 tonnes are for shipment during the first half of October and the remaining 50,000 tonnes are for shipment during the second half of October, Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry, told Dow Jones Newswires.

The deadline for bids is Sep 13.

Jordan last bought barley Aug 2 when it purchased 100,000 tonnes from Toepfer at the price of US$143.3 a tonne of Russian, Ukraine, or European Union origin at the seller's option.
