Yurun begins construction of biggest pork plant in south-western China
Construction of the biggest pork processing plant in China's south-western region had begun in Chongqing recently.
According to an earlier agreement signed between the local government of Chongqing's Qianjiang District and Yurun Group, Qianjiang district government will set up a hog production base that can stock 2 million heads of hogs while Yurun will fund the RMB270-million investment to build a modern pork processing plant.
When completed, the plant is expected to contribute RMB2 billion in sales income annually. It will also create close to 1,000 employment opportunities for locals.
