Russia Lifts Ban On Poultry Imports From Delaware, USA
The Russian Federal Veterinarian and Phitosanitary Service has lifted temporary restrictions on poultry imports from Delaware, USA.
The limits were imposed from February 9, 2004.
The USA Poultry and Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) says the decision was based on guarantees of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's veterinarian service. The veterinarian service had earlier reported that the H7N2 low-pathogenic strain of bird flu had been liquidated in Delaware.
USAPEEC said the United States had also confirmed the absence of the epizootic disease for the past six months.
However, the Russian ban on poultry imports from Maryland and Texas remain.
