Namibia bans South African pork following swine fever outbreaks
Namibia has banned South African pork following the recent swine fever outbreaks in the country's Eastern and Western Cape provinces.
Pork imports from outside South Africa would still be permitted if a non-manipulation permit was issued by a South African veterinary official, certifying that the product has not been tampered, with no compromise in its condition and quality.
The disease also known as hog cholera was highly contagious and usually found among domestic and wild pigs.
