Ukrainian meat output up in July

In July, Ukraine's production of meat in live weight rose by 0.6% or 1,300 tonnes compared with June, to 204,500 tonnes, according to the state statistics committee.

Production of meat by private farms went down by 7% or by 5,400 tonnes in July, compared with June, to 71,800 tonnes. Specialised farms boosted meat production by 3.2% or 4,100 tonnes to 132,700 tonnes.

In July 2010, meat production grew by 2.7% or 5,300 tonnes, compared with July 2009.

In January-July 2010, meat production went up by 6.7% or 98,400 tonnes, compared with January-July 2009, to 1,570,900 tonnes.

In 2009, meat production rose by 0.2% or 5,200 tonnes to 2,728,400 tonnes, compared with 2008, according to reports.
