Russia's 2012 grain volumes output down to 53.4 million tonnes
As of August 28, Russia already harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 27.8 million hectares (62% of the harvested areas) and the produced grain volumes totalled 53.4 million tonnes, down compared to 2011's 60.3 million tonnes, while the average yield is 19.2 centners/hectare.
In particular, the Urals Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 1.7 million hectares (47% of the harvested areas), and produced 2.1 million tonnes of grains (in 2011 - 695,000 tonnes) with the average yield of 12 centners/hectare (c/ha) (in 2011 - 22.8 c/ha).
The Volga Federal District harvested grains throughout the area of 9.3 million hectares (72%), and produced 13.2 million tonnes of grains (in 2011 - 15.5 million tonnes), the yield - 14.2 c/ha (in 2011 - 20.7 c/ha).
