Norwegian salmon output grows 9.2%

Salmon volumes regulated by the Norwegian fish farming industry increased by 9.2% between June and July this year, the Norwegian Seafood Federation (FHL) said.

Compared to July 2010, volumes are up 8%, while in June the annual growth rate reached 5%.

In July the number of newly planted salmon fell 16% compared to July 2010. The total amount of salmon in Norwegian fish farms today amounts to 533,000 tonne.
