Russia to examine Ukrainian meat, dairy plants
Russian sanitary watchdog from August 30 will be holding a general inspection on Ukrainian enterprises for the production of animal goods, including beef, pork, poultry, and dairy, according to the State Veterinary Medicine Committee.
The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) planned to examine about 20 enterprises in Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Odesa, Volyn and Donetsk regions.
In May this year, Russian experts carried out regular inspections of 11 Ukrainian meat and dairy enterprises. On June 22, 2010 Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on imports into Russia of the production of six Ukrainian factories.
On July 1, Russia cancelled the temporary restrictions imposed at end of 2005 on imports of all types of livestock products, including live birds, hatching eggs, poultry meat and fodder additives for poultry.
