Wilbur-Ellis appoints new managing director for Feed Asia business

 

 


Wilbur-Ellis's Feed Division, a marketer and distributor of value-added animal feed ingredients in North America and the Asia-Pacific, has appointed Jonathan F. Wilson as managing director of its Feed Asia business.


Having established strong regional networks and a practical understanding of the feed industry in Asia, Wilson will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will lead Feed Asia's geographic expansion efforts, which includes acquisitions, and improving the transparency of the supply chain, with a focus on safety, regulatory, and food security issues.  


Wilson, who has been based in the region for over 20 years, was most recently the chief operating officer of Gold Coin Group, a major Asia-based organisation specialising in animal nutrition, genetic development, and commodity trading businesses. There, he oversaw the company's 29 industrial manufacturing and commercial locations research and development sites throughout the Asia-Pacific.  He was also in charge of expansion efforts in the region through acquisitions and joint ventures. 


Previously, Wilson was the vice president and managing director at Imerys Asia-Pacific, a distributor of mineral-based specialty products for industrial applications. He was responsible for the strategic direction of each business unit at the company. Wilson also served in various regional roles with Great Lakes Chemical and National Starch.


Wilson holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Catholic University, Washington D.C, US, and a Master of Business Administration from the Rutgers University Executive Programme, Singapore.
