Russia's poultry and cattle output increase at a combined figure of 9.8% in July 2012 compared with previous results in 2011.
Poultry output climbed 22% to 285,000 tonnes while meat from cattle rose 11% to 108,000 tonnes, including by-products. Production of poultry and cattle in terms of meat, bones and by-products climbed 8.8% to 5.8 million tonnes between January and July 2012 compared with levels in the first seven months of 2011, the state statistics service, Rosstat, reported. The agency also noted that meat from pork rose 16% to 76,300 tonnes.
In raw numbers, cattle climbed 1.2% to 21.4 million head at the end of July, including 9.1 million cows a 2.2% increase from one year ago. There also were 4.5% more hogs in Russia than in July 2011 at 19.6 million.
