Vietnam's January-August fertiliser imports amount to US$1.01 billion
 

 

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam is estimated to have spent US$1.01 billion on importing 2.352 million tonnes of fertilisers.

 

The figures represent on-year decreases of 2.6% in value and 9.4% on volume, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said on Monday (Aug 27).

 

In August, the fertiliser import volume is estimated at 380,000 tonnes worth US$146 million, down from 445,000 tonnes valued US$188 million in August.

 

As of August 15, Vietnam spent US$250 million on importing 475,475 tonnes of potassium, US$202 million on purchasing 352,585 tonnes of DAP, US$152.95 million on buying 623,820 tonnes of Sa and US$89.93 million on importing 179,355 tonnes of urea fertiliser, said the General Department of Customs.
