Price summary

Prices rose in most regions on improved demand.

Market analysis

Recent gains in soymeal prices may moderate demand for it, thus resulting in increased lysine supplementation. Expecting lysine demand to improve further, feed millers were active in making purchases. Producers and traders had also raised their asking prices.

During mid-week, general offer prices of locally produced lysine had risen to RMB13.6-14.0/kg while transacted prices were in the range of RMB13.5-13.8kg. In certain regions, some small volume deals were concluded at RMB14.0/kg or higher. Transacted prices for 65-percent locally produced lysine had remained firm at RMB7.35-7.50/kg.

Transacted prices of imported lysine were mainly at RMB14.4-14.8/kg, while that of locally produced 65-percent lysine from CJ Group was marginally higher at RMB7.60/kg due to reduced supply.

Market forecast

Buying interest is seen to remain firm. High soymeal prices will likely sustain demand for lysine.
