Australia's 2009-10 wheat forecast steady at 23.2 million tonnes
The forecast for production of Australian wheat this crop year is unchanged from a month ago at 23.2 million tonnes, according to a monthly agribusiness and commodities wrap issued Friday by National Australia Bank Ltd.
If achieved, new crop production will rise 8.4 percent from actual output of 21.4 million tonnes last crop year ended March 31, 2009, the bank said.
While the headline new crop figure remains unchanged, the distribution between states has changed with production estimates for Queensland and New South Wales revised down but the forecast for Western Australia revised up, it said.
