Univet to launch new antibiotics at Agrilink
Univet Nutrition & Animal Healthcare Company will introduce its new antibiotic products at Agrilink from October 8-10, 2009.
Univet's Sustalin LA-20% can be used against mycloplasmal and bacterial pneumonia in pigs. Treatment time is short and administration is easy, which will minimise pig stress, according to the company's general manager Ricardo Alba.
The company will also introduce MaMMAvet, a combination of two synergistic antibiotics - penicillin and streptomycin. The product is specifically designed for bacterial infections, in particular the MMA (mastitis-metritis-agalactia), a syndrome that usually afflicts sows 12 to 48 hours after giving birth.
Alba said MaMMAvet is in suspension form so no mixing in required. The product is easy to use, has a longer shelf life, and its effective dose is only half of that of the leading market brand, said Alba.
