Britain's Waitrose to sell British milk only

Britain's Waitrose will be the first supermarket to sell 100 percent British dairy products.

Customers will be able to trace the dairy products' provenance from farm to fridge.

This move will be great news the British farmers, as it will greatly boost UK dairy farms whose number had halved over the last decade.

Waitrose hopes to achieve a 15 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by supporting local and regional producers in the UK.

The introduction of the essential Waitrose label dairy products will include a whole range including yoghurts, dairy ice-cream, milk, cream, cheddar and butter.

Waitrose is also encouraging farming practices that benefit wildlife through the WildCare scheme.
