China's 2010 wheat output to fall tad
Wheat production in China this year might drop by 1% to 114 million tonnes, according to a report released by the China Grains Network on Wednesday (Aug 25).
This is lower than an earlier semi-official estimate of 115 million tonnes, basically flat with the output last year.
The China Grains Network also forecast the wheat consumption would increase 2.5 million tonnes to 107.3 million tonnes this year. Wheat imports may arrive at one million tonnes and exports 500,000 tonnes.
