Canada resumes beef exports to Jamaica after 10-year ban
After a hiatus of over 10 years, Canadian beef exports to Jamaica has resumed, Canada's Agriculture and International Trade ministers said.
Jamaica is estimated to import about US$4.5 million worth of Canadian beef annually, or 1.5 million pounds.
Jamaica is Canada's second largest market for agricultural exports in the Caribbean. The cpuntry banned import of Canada's beef 10 years ago over fear of BSE, also known as Mad Cow Disease.
