China soybean exports reach 23,600 tonnes in July
According to the General Administration of Customs, China exported 23,600 tonnes of soybean in July 2005, down by 7.7 percent compared with the same period in 2004. Export destinations included Japan, the US and South Korea.
From January to July, China's accumulative soybean exports totaled 278,000 tonnes, up by 22.6 percent compared with the same period in 2004.
Meanwhile, China imported 2.86 million tonnes of soybean in July 2005, up by 55 percent year-on-year. In particular, imports from Argentina, the US and Brazil totaled 1.47 million, 400,000 and 950,000 tonnes respectively.
From January to July, China's accumulative soybean imports totaled 15 million tonnes, up by 38.4 percent compared with the same period in 2004.
China exported 43,000 tonnes of soymeal in July 2005, down by 54 percent year-on-year. The major soymeal export destination was Japan, registering 40,000 tonnes.
From January to July, China's accumulative soymeal exports totaled 400,000 tonnes, up by four percent compared with the same period in 2004.
