Aviagen showcases Arbor Acres at Indo Livestock 2014

Aviagen, the world's leading poultry breeding company, exhibited its brand Arbor Acres for the first time in June at the 9th Indo Livestock 2014 Expo and Forum at the Jakarta Conference Centre, the leading trade show in Indonesia hosted every two years by The Ministry of Agriculture.

Aviagen generated considerable customer interest, particularly in the presence and performance of Arbor Acres in Asia and specifically in the genetic progress in growth rate and feed conversion of the Arbor Acres Plus broiler, which has been exhibited in several markets in the region.

"We were pleased with the Indo Livestock Expo and Forum experience and we got to pass on a positive message regarding Arbor Acres performance," comments Saksake Pacharadit, Assistant Vice President, Arbor Acres, Asia. "We will maintain our effort and communication with several companies and endeavour to secure a position in the growing domestic market in the future."

As the second largest Asian broiler market, Indonesia's broiler production has been growing at over 5% annually, mainly driven by the growth in population and accompanying demand. The increase in per capita income is another driver for the country's poultry consumption, which stood at 7 kilogrammes per capita, just over half the current global average of 13 kilogrammes per person.
