Australia dry weather threatens stock feed crops
Stock feed manufacturers are getting worried about Australia's grain crops as dry conditions continue to torment the eastern states.
Unless rain comes soon, there will be a reduction in grain production, which will possibly push up prices, said the Stock Feed Manufacturers Council.
The council's executive officer John Spragg said he hopes spring rainfall to get the required yield.
There are concerns of this harvest, particularly in Queensland, and the northern half of New South Wales is still very dry, he said.
Spragg said there is a risk of those crops not finishing, and may yield a smaller-than-expected harvest.
