Vietnam seafood exports to South Korea reaches US$80 million
Vietnam has so far exported about US$80-million worth of seafood to South Korea this year, a slight fall compared to the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.
Main seafood exports to South Korea include shrimp and frozen and dried seafood. However, fish, cuttlefish and octopus exports to this market slowed down.
South Korea is now the third biggest importer of Vietnam's seafood after Japan and the US.
Meanwhile, seafood is Vietnam's only major export item to continue its rise in August, earning some US$260 million, or up US$30 million month-on-month. As such, the eight-month total of Vietnamese seafood exports is now at US$1.627 billion, or up 30 percent from the same period last year.
