Ukraine's grains, leguminous plants' acreage reaches 9.84 million hectares
Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 9.84 million hectares, or 65% of the forecast as of August 21, 2012.
The produced volumes totalled 25.39 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 25.8 centners per hectare (c/ha), declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, as of the reporting date agrarians already harvested 48,600 tonnes of buckwheat throughout the areas of 50,700 hectares (18%). The average yield totalled 9.6 c/ha.
Besides, as of the reporting date agrarians harvested 70,100 tonnes of millet throughout the areas of 59,200 hectares (35%), with the average yield of 11.8 c/ha.
Ukraine harvested soy throughout 17,400 hectares, and produced 23,000 tonnes, the yield totalled 13.2 c/ha. Besides, Ukraine started field works to prepare the soil for planting of winter crops. As of the reporting date, agrarians processed the areas of 7.52 million hectares (83% of the plan). Agrarians planted winter rapeseed for the harvest-2013 throughout the areas of 287,700 hectares (31% of the forecast).
