Iowa researchers develop method to boost poultry breast meat yield

A group of scientists from Iowa in the US has developed a method for increasing the live weight of poultry.

The method was pioneered by researchers Joy M. Campbell, Barton S. Borg, James D. Quigley III and Louis E. Russell of Johnston.

According to the US Patent & Trademark Office, the method uses a plasma product administered through the animals' feed and/or water to increase live weight of poultry. The product is also effective in increasing the yield of white meat while reducing dark meat.
